Interactive Reading Log #4

I want to know more about what happened after Red was pulled into the Fairy Realm.  I want to know what happened to Tanya and Fabian’s friendship.  I also want to know what happened to Florence and if she ever found out about Morwenna Bloom.  I think that Red probably found her brother that was taken when they were orphans.  I sometimes wonder and think about if the old lady that was found dead on the side of the road was Morwenna Bloom. Because if it wasn’t why would that character be important to the ending of the story.  I think about if Morwenna even made it out of the forest alive.  Warwick and Fabian didn’t tell Florence that Tanya was in trouble with Morwenna so I am still wondering if they ever told her the story. I also wonder that if Morwenna was not the old lady on the side of the road then will she ever come back for revenge among Florence?

Interactive Reading Log #3

My favorite character is Red.  I think that Red has a big impact on Tanya’s fairy life and real life.  Red to me is very helpful to Tanya in her time of need.  I think that Red did the most amazing thing and the sweetest thing that anyone has ever done to Tanya in this book, Red saved her.  Red gave advice to her.  Red cared for her.  I think that Red is an amazing character and a very important character.  For example,Tanya was about to be sucked into the fairy realm in place of Morwenna Bloom, instead Red begged the fairies to take her instead of Tanya, when she noticed Tanya suffering.  She protected her and made sure that she was safe from any harm put to her by the lurking betrayer prior to her guardian.

In 13 Treasures I think that the setting in the woods near the Catacombs is very important to the ending in some way.  Fabian and Tanya are almost always in the woods, and even when they aren’t that’s all they talk about.  Strange things have happened near the Catacombs, no one is allowed beyond that point, for that particular reason.  For example, Florence, Tanya’s Grandmother, had a really close friend disappear near Catacomb number 2.  Also, Tanya and Fabian were out in the woods and got lost near one of the Catacombs when a mysterious girl by the name of Morwenna Bloom appeared and offered to escort Tanya and Fabian home, but by the time Fabian’s father found them, she was leading them in the wrong direction. 

Interactive Reading Log #1

In 13 Treasures I think that Tanya and Fabian have an interesting relationship because it’s like Tanya really dislikes Fabian and he creeps her out, but It also seems that she feels safe when he is around her. For Example, when they were in the woods, she was walking her dog and Fabian was spying on her, he accidentally stepped on a stick and it cracked, Oberon, Tanya’s dog dashed off into the woods. Tanya was so mad at him!! So when she went out to look for Oberon, Fabian went with her because he was the one that made her dog run off in the first place.  She acted like she didn’t want him with her.  But when they got lost in the woods and it was dark and they still hadn’t found Oberon, she got scared and seemed to feel more comfortable since he was with her.

The Book

This book was an allegory to me. This book was not like the cover explained it to be! I was amazed at how different the actual book was compared to the writing on the back. I recommend this book to girls AND boys. If you like mysteries, this book is right for you!!
